Blue Ball Families and Community,

Welcome to this week's edition of the Blue Ball Elementary School Newsletter! We're excited to share the latest happenings and updates from our school community to keep you informed and engaged.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Thank you so much for taking the time to attend parent-teacher conferences last week. Your presence, support, and partnership make a meaningful difference in your child’s learning experience.

We truly value the opportunity to connect with you, share progress, and work together to support each learner's growth. Your involvement helps build a strong school community and reinforces the importance of education for your children.

Spotlight on Academics

✏️ Helping Your Child Become a Confident Writer at Home
Writing doesn’t have to feel like homework—when it’s part of everyday life, kids begin to see its real-world value!
Here are some easy ways to build writing into your daily routine:
📝 Make Lists Together
Invite your child to help write grocery lists, packing lists, or plans for the weekend.
🏡 Create a Family Message Board
Use a whiteboard or chalkboard for reminders, daily schedules, or even a fun “Question of the Week.”
🍽️ Design Mealtime Menus
Let your child write a dinner menu—or create a pretend restaurant with fun food descriptions!
👀 Model Writing Yourself
Show your child how you use writing every day—whether it’s notes, emails, or to-do lists—and talk through your thinking as you write.
Small moments like these can make a big difference in building strong writing habits!

You are still welcome to return any of the following Family activities.

PTO Reminders

Our next PTO Meeting is Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 6:30 PM in the Blue Ball Conference Room. A virtual link will be sent prior to the meeting for those unable to attend in person.

All PTO officer positions — President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer — will be open for the 2026–2027 school year. Nominations are still being accepted, with elections to be held at the April meeting.

PTO is looking for new faces and fresh ideas, especially kindergarten and first grade parents who are ready to get involved and grow with our school community. Attending a PTO meeting is a great way to learn how you can help and what each role involves.
Please note: Without volunteers to fill these positions, we will not have a PTO, which means programs such as field trips, RIF books, teacher appreciation, family nights, and more would not be possible.
Your involvement truly makes a difference—please consider stepping up or nominating someone today! If you have questions or would like to make a nomination for yourself or someone else please email us at blueballpto1@gmail.com.

Excellence in Attendance

We are grateful to our families for sharing your children each day as we grow and learn together. When students attend school consistently, they not only strengthen essential skills in reading, writing, and math, but also benefit from collaboration with peers—sharing ideas, building teamwork, and forming lasting friendships. Being together nurtures social development and fosters a sense of belonging that enriches the learning experience. When everyone is present, we grow stronger, more confident, and better prepared for success—together.

Congratulations to Kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades who had 95% or better attendance last week.
